There are two main concepts when talking about users in Zelo.
Recipient: A user in Zelo that can receive messages.
Audience: A group of recipients. An audience can be created individually for each message or saved as a preset for later and frequent use. It can consist of attribute groups and individual recipients.
Managing Recipients
In the main navigation bar at the top of the screen, the "Recipients" tab is the home of all the recipients in your account.
On the left hand menu you can find different areas of managing recipients:
Browse and download a list of recipients
Add a new recipient
Create an Audience
Import recipients from an Excel file
Delete recipients
Creating a New Audience
There are two ways to start the creation of an audience: Via a draft message or under the "Audience Presets" page in the "Recipients area.
Creating an audience via a draft message
Create a new message or open an existing draft.
Navigate to the "Audience" tab.
You can choose to select a previously saved audience or start from scratch by clicking the "New Audience" button.
With a new audience, choose either an individual recipient or toggle an attribute (ex. role) and filter with an attribute term (ex. Developer). You can then create a filter that states, "All recipients with a Role that includes Developer" will receive this message.
You can also create filters that exclude certain recipients, ex: "Exclude any recipients that are have a location attribute that includes the term Canada"
Click "Save" when you are done creating an audience in the draft message. Clicking "Done" will discard any changes.
Important: If you'd like to reuse the audience you've created in the draft message, click "Details" on the Audience page, provide a name and click "Create New". You have now created a reusable Audience which you can use on other messages.
Creating an audience via the Audience Presets page
Navigate to the "Recipients" area
Click "Audience Presets" in the left menu.
You can search for and edit existing audiences, or;
Type a name for the preset and click the plus button to create a new.
You can add attribute filters and recipients to the audience.
When you are done, click "Save"
Editing Audience Presets
Existing presets can be edited from the "Audience Presets" page under "Recipients." You can edit:
The attributes and individual recipients.
The name of the audience preset.
Translations of the audience name.
